Profile
Dr Dean graduated MBBS at University of NSW in 1976. His internship at St Vincents Hospital, Sydney was followed by training overseas, including at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, The London Hospital, and Guys Hospital in London. Dr Dean trained in urology both overseas and in Australia. He practises exclusively from the San Clinic at Sydney Adventist Hospital and is consequently able to offer an excellent and personalised service to his patients with a focus on high quality patient care. He operates at Sydney Adventist Hospital and Hornsby Hospital, and performs prostate brachytherapy at the Mater Hospital in Crows Nest. He is a member of the Medical Advisory Committee of the Sydney Adventist Hospital.
Research
Dr Dean has particular interest and expertise in minimally invasive therapies for prostate cancer, benign prostate enlargement, male and female incontinence, and urinary stone disease. Research interests include the early detection and treatment of prostate cancer and green light laser prostatectomy for benign prostatic enlargement.
