Dr Simpson graduated from Sydney University in 1989 and undertook physician's training at Concord Hospital specialising in gastroenterology/hepatology. He completed his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 1996, including recognition of training in Upper GI Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. He has been in private practice as a consultant gastroenterologist/hepatologist in the Hornsby area since 1998. He has been an Attending Medical Officer at the Sydney Adventist Hospital since 1998 as a gastroenterologist and general physician, with regular endoscopy lists (gastroscopy and colonoscopy). Other hospital appointments include the Hornsby Kuring-gai and Lady Davidson Hospitals. Dr Simpsons' special interests include interventional endoscopy, gastrointestinal bleeding, functional bowel disease and laryngopharyngeal reflux.
