Clinical Specialties & Services
Adventist HealthCare offers a range of rehabilitation services at both Dalcross Adventist Hospital and Sydney Adventist Hospital campuses, with a brand new Rehabilitation service to commence at Sydney Adventist Hospital later in 2017.
New San Rehabilitation Unit Opening Soon
The new San Rehabilitation at SAH will provide a specially designed program of care tailored for each patient that starts prior to admission, continues through surgery and oversees their rehabilitation in the new purpose renovated rehabilitation facilities. The 45 private room in-patient unit will open later this year.
To maximise the recovery of Arthroplasty patients, the PRIME (Personalised Rehabilitation Individually Managed and Evaluated) program of care will commence with pre-surgery screening, review, and ‘prehabilitation’ therapy 4 to 6 weeks in advance of normal pre-admission and pre surgery procedures to improve muscle strength and condition.
Prehabilitation will be offered at no extra cost to the patient and will be available via the internet for patients, other resources for GP’s and onsite face to face care.
Working alongside our Surgeons, the tailored program of care will be delivered by allied health, nursing and medical staff providing all the benefits and expertise of an integrated multi-disciplinary approach to achieve greater and improved functional mobility, maximise patient safety and decrease post-surgery complications.
Orthopaedic, spine, neuro, cardiac and other surgical patients requiring rehabilitation will have a seamless transition into rehabilitation with most services provided by San Rehabilitation at Sydney Adventist Hospital and at Dalcross Adventist Hospital.
The San Rehabilitation unit will provide 45 private bed rooms with a purpose built area allowing patient rehabilitation activities planned, supported and monitored by highly trained rehabilitation staff which will ease the patient transition from hospital care to independence at home. The on-site service enables continuity of care and monitoring as surgeons and consultants can easily remain involved in their patient’s ongoing care until discharge. These inpatient services will be complemented in the future with outpatient day-only rehabilitation programs.
San Rehabilitation at the San will complement the ongoing rehabilitation services provided at Dalcross Adventist Hospital, which will continue to accept all rehabilitation patients except those who need a hydrotherapy pool.
When you need expert rehabilitation support, Dalcross Adventist Hospital has a unique and highly personalised approach to getting you back to your best self again.
