Awarded Dux in his final year of studies at University of Notre Dame, Australia, Dr Shatrov completed training in orthopaedic surgery in February 2019. An orthopaedic knee surgeon, at the forefront of research, innovation and teaching, he has completed prestigious fellowships, including at the FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence in France focusing on robotic knee surgery; and the Centre Orthopedic SANTY, a leading treatment centre for professional footballers from across Europe and the Fortius Clinic in London, UK, centre responsible for managing acute sports injuries for premier league football players and international level sports players. His fellowship in London included time spent with the Chelsea football team as well as numerous other international sporting teams.

Dr. Shatrov currently holds appointments at the San, Hornsby & Kuring-gai Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital, and aims to complete his PhD at the University of Sydney, focusing on the topic of the patellofemoral joint in total knee arthroplasty.

Research

A cutting-edge researcher, Dr Shatrov has published widely and received domestic and international awards. In 2022 he was awarded best presentation at the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFORT) conference in Lisbon. He continues to be involved in international collaborative research in robotic knee arthroplasty, ACL and sports knee surgery. He is a sought-after speaker and, when in Australia, is also hands-on teaching orthopaedic trainees for the Australian Orthopaedic Association and other bodies. Dr. Shatrov is a passionate teacher and currently lectures medical students, masters students and registrars from the University of Sydney, University of Notre Dame as well as orthopaedic trainees.
