Profile
Dr Jane Standen attended Abbotsleigh and studied medicine at the University of Sydney. She holds dual specialist qualifications as a Consultant Anaesthetist and as a Specialist Pain Physician. Dr Standen has expertise in the treatment of both early onset and persistent pain. She
specialises in minimally invasive procedures, aiming to reduce pain and enhance quality of life.
Dr Standen is an honorary tutor with the University of Sydney Masters in Pain medicine. She is actively involved in pain management education of junior staff and regularly conducts GP educational sessions. Dr Standen is appointed at the Sydney Adventist Hospital, The Mater Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital.
Areas of interest include treatment of neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome and managing pain in the elderly. Dr Standen practices with an empathetic manner, promoting evidence based treatment and multidisciplinary care.
