Dr Carruthers completed his MBBS through the University of NSW in 1976, obtaining FFARACS in 1982 and FANZCA in 1992. He is currently a visiting medical officer in Anaesthetics at Sydney Adventist, Westmead Private, Strathfield Private and Macquarie University hospitals.
