Profile

Dr Amy Teh graduated with Honours from the University of New South Wales in 2001. She completed Radiation Oncology training at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Melbourne, Australia), followed by a Clinical Research Fellowship at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada, where she was the recipient of the Phyllis Hantho Breast Cancer Research Fund and was awarded the Weekend to End Breast Cancer Research Fellowship for her research. Dr Teh returned to Australia in 2009 as a Consultant Radiation Oncologist at the Radiation Oncology Institute and Sydney Adventist Hospital.

Dr Teh has special interests in Breast Cancer and Prostate Cancer, with certification from the Seattle Prostate Institute for both LDR and HDR brachytherapy.

Dr Teh is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney, and was awarded "Excellence in Teaching" in 2014. Dr Teh is also an Examiner for the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Radiology (RANZCR). Dr Teh has membership / affiliations with the following organisations: Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR); American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology (ASTRO); European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO); Kuringai District Medical Association (KDMA); Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG); Australia and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials Group (ANZUP); American Brachytherapy Society (ABS); and Australian Brachytherapy Group (ABG).

Research

Dr Teh has been lead author of publications in the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology & Physcis (IJROBP) and Journal of Thoracic Oncology. Dr Teh's research on 'Concomitant Intensity Modulated Boost during Whole Breast Hypo-fractionated Radiotherapy' was published in the Journal of the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO). More recently, Dr Teh has presented and published on Prostate Brachytherapy and the use of SpaceOARâ„¢ in Prostate Radiotherapy.

Dr Teh's research has been presented at ASTRO (American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology), USANZ (Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand), RANZCR (Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Radiology) and University of Toronto Radiation Oncology Scientific Meetings.

A member of TROG (Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group) and ANZUP (Australia and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer) Clinical Trials Group, Dr Teh is Site-Principal-Investigator of international trials on post-prostatectomy radiotherapy (RAVES) and the use of adjuvant systemic/hormone therapy with prostate radiotherapy (ENZARAD). Dr Teh has an active interest in PSMA PET imaging and Image-Guided Stereotactic Adaptive Body Radiotherapy in Prostate Cancer, using Tomotherapy, VMAT and IMRT, and has completed the ESTRO course in Image-Guided Stereotactic Radiotherapy (Lille, France). Dr Teh is research supervisor to University of Sydney MD students. She is a reviewer for the IJROBP and Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology (JMIRO). Dr Teh has been invited speaker on Prostate and Breast Cancer Management both locally and internationally. She was also part of a volunteer Oncology Team to the Solomon Islands.
