Meet Carol – Castle Hill Local Woman of the Year 2025
“I just love serving the community. I love working here because if I can put a smile on somebody’s face, I’m happy.”
Carol began volunteering at the San nearly 11 years ago. While accompanying her husband for a hip replacement at the hospital, she noticed an ad seeking more volunteers. Inspired by the opportunity, Carol quickly obtained her volunteer badge and began helping out while her husband was on the ward.
Every Friday morning, Carol dedicates her time to the Orthopaedic ward, visiting 40 rooms to brighten patients’ days. She offers support where needed, whether assisting with shopping, engaging in friendly conversation, or simply providing a little extra cheer to those who could use it.
Carol has been an active volunteer in the Hills community for over 30 years and was recognised for this achievement by Mark Hodges, MP for Castle Hill.
Congratulations Carol!
