Carols at the San 2024

As the lights dimmed, the damp evening filled with music, laughter, and joy, gave way to the quiet of the night. San Carols, a tradition that had brought the community together year after year, was now officially over. But the memories of the songs sung, the hearts lifted, and the shared spirit of Christmas would linger long after the final curtain fell.

Grey skies and drizzle threatened but did not dampen the spirits of everyone who turned up on the front lawn of Sydney Adventist Hospital. Many came well prepared carrying umbrellas and cloaked in raincoats.

San Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Dr Peter Wood had returned for a second year as MC of the event, which kicked off with a variety of family activities.

Adventist HealthCare CEO Brett Goods welcomed the audience who had turned out despite the rain.

“Our San Carols is a much-loved community gathering amongst the Sydney Adventist Hospital community as well as the entire upper north shore of Sydney. So, it was great to see so many families and friends here tonight for this wonderful occasion despite the wet weather.”

The very popular children’s concert featured Kevin from the Minions, while the main carols program boasted a stellar line up of talent.

Stage stars Chloe Zuel and Rob Mallett were joined by Dani Da Ros and Jana Lombart. Other performers included the Wahroonga Adventist School Choir, and Dave Martin and the Carols band.

At nine o’clock, a brilliant fireworks display illuminated the sky above the hospital.

While the event might have ended, we hope the memories of the songs sung, the hearts lifted, and the shared spirit of Christmas would linger long after the final curtain fell.
