Implantable Hearing Device Workshop at the San
Options for hearing rehabilitation are continuously expanding, with ongoing improvements in technology, design, and patient outcomes. This interactive workshop includes educational talks on implantable hearing aids, such as bone conduction devices and cochlear implants, insights into the patient journey, and surgical demonstrations. Speakers will discuss the various devices available, national guidelines, and candidacy for patients who may benefit from these devices, while outlining the strengths and limitations of the technology. The patient journey will also be explored, highlighting the significant impact untreated hearing loss can have on patients and their families, with GPs hearing firsthand from patients who have received implants.
