Profile
Dr Fernando graduated in 1998 from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and finished her internship and residency. She entered the training program for Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 2001 and successfully completed MD (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) from the University of Colombo in 2007. She then completed two years of training in Leeds Teaching Hospitals, UK and obtained MDCOG in 2006.
Dr Fernando worked in Sri Lanka as a specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology before migrating to Australia in 2008, and has worked in multiple public hospitals in NSW for the last 15 years. She obtained Fellowship from the Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2021 after completing the required training.
Research
Dr Fernando is currently involved in teaching trainees and junior doctors and takes part in examinations conducted by RANZCOG.
