Travel & Accommodation Service for Patients

Sydney Adventist Hospital, in conjunction with Travel Club, is pleased to offer a new service to assist patients travelling from interstate or overseas for treatment, a procedure or surgery at Sydney Adventist Hospital.

If you need to organise flights, accommodation or transfers, you can call Travel Club on 1300 596 157, or email travelclubnorth@fctravelclub.com.au. They will organise and personalise your travel arrangements for you. Discuss your proposed travel arrangements with your doctor prior to confirming your travel booking to ensure that you have allowed adequate pre and post procedural/treatment planning and recovery time. Your doctor may require you to arrive the night before if you have an early procedure. Choose from a range of accommodation options including convenient budget accommodation on the hospital grounds in Jacaranda Lodge to 5-star accommodation in the Sydney CBD, or somewhere in-between. You will also need to ensure that you have adhered to any doctor requirements regarding length of stay and ability to travel after surgery.

HOW DO I MAKE A BOOKING?
First check with your doctor on when they need you to be available prior to and post surgery including the day and time you are required, any special circumstances especially for those flying home and ensure your bookings meet these requirements. Call the Travel Club on 1300 596 157, mention you are a San patient and they will tailor your arrangements. Alternatively, you can email them on travelclubnorth@fctravelclub.com.au.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Can I get travel insurance if I am travelling for surgery/medical treatment?
A: Most insurance companies will not cover patients who are travelling for surgery. It is advisable that you check with your insurer prior to travel.

Q: How many days before and after my procedure/treatment will I need to be available to see my doctor or for monitoring?
A: You must check with your doctor as to the specific requirements relevant to your procedure/treatment and plan travel arrangements accordingly.
