The San has an ongoing commitment to the education and training of healthcare professionals – and as a teaching hospital, we also invest heavily in medical research through affiliations with major tertiary education institutions. We are proud to have forged a strong academic partnership with Australian National University, and our key partner in nursing education is Avondale University, whose students are able to study and live on our campus.

ELIA Wellness Empowering people to whole-person health

In 2020, Adventist HealthCare welcomed ELIA Wellness to the family. A registered charity dedicated to promoting good health, ELIA empowers the community to whole-person health, healing and hope, transforming lives in the process. ELIA stands for ‘Empower Lifestyle Innovation Advocates’ and their initiatives include health education resources and fitness programs. The evidence-based ELIA Lifestyle Medicine Centre at the San is aimed at tackling chronic diseases.

A new treatment which adds many centimetres to the height of children living with achondroplasia is now readily available at Sydney Adventist Hospital – without the long waiting lists. This is potentially life changing because the earlier the treatment starts; the more height can be gained.

San Cyclists – Bobbo’s Top Fundraising Team

Sydney Adventist Hospital’s San Cyclists team have taken out top spot as the leading   fundraising team in the 2024 Bobbin Head Cycle Classic.   All up the team raised $7,769.38 for Australian suicide prevention charity Lifeline.

The Easter Bunny dropped into Sydney Adventist Hospital late last week, ahead of Easter.   The cotton tailed creature had a spring in his step as he did the rounds to drop off delicious chocolate goodies which brought smiles to the faces of doctors, nurses, staff and patients.
