Residence accommodation

The Sydney Adventist Hospital (SAH) Residence provides accommodation for both women and men in a safe, gender-specific, Christian community environment. Accommodation is provided on both long-term resident and short-term guest arrangements.

When you stay with us the Residence is viewed as your home and we value your privacy. The Residence is a locked facility and you will require an access swipe card, however you are free to come and go from the building at your leisure.

Types of accommodation

Long-term (Residential) Accommodation

A stay of 7 weeks or more is considered long-term accommodation. Applications must be made in writing together with all required paperwork and an application fee. Priority is given to AHCL staff and Avondale University nursing students, and if there is a vacancy rooms may be offered to others at managements’ discretion.

All residential rooms include a single bed, wardrobe and desk. Each level of the Ladies and Men’s residences has shared kitchen, laundry, and lounge facilities, plus bathroom and separate toilet facilities. Residents provide their own bed linen, cooking utensils and cooking equipment.

Short-term (Guest) Accommodation

Short-term accommodation is from 1 night up to 6 weeks. Reservations can be made through Reception on (02) 9480 9333 during business hours. A booking fee is payable upfront to confirm a reservation and is then applied to the first night's accommodation charge. The booking fee is only refunded under certain conditions.

Guest rooms include a single bed, wardrobe and desk. Bed linen, a pillow and bath towel are provided in the room at check-in. Rooms are not serviced, and guests are expected to maintain their own housekeeping during a stay. Clean linen and towel are available on request at Reception. The Residence shared facilities of kitchen, laundry, lounge room, bathroom and toilets are all available for guest use. Basic cooking kits are available from Reception, for a small deposit, for guests who wish to prepare meals. A small heater and fan can also be provided for our guest’s comfort.

Additional information

Age restrictions apply within the Residence. Residential applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Exceptions apply for Avondale University students who have not yet turned 18, and the Resident Manager must be contacted a minimum of 6 weeks before residential accommodation is required to discuss this process.

Guests under 18 years of age cannot occupy a room on their own and must be accompanied by an adult.
