Fees
As a private emergency care facility, doctor consultation fees will apply to most visits. There is a fixed out-of-pocket expense of $385 for patients (full fee). As a service to the community, the San waives this $385 fee for patients who arrive by ambulance.
We bill Medicare directly for the emergency department doctors' procedures and consults. Concessions are given to DVA patients and emergency service personnel.
Other services (e.g., Consultant Medical Staff, Radiology, Pathology and Physiotherapy) will charge their own fees.
A doctor's referral is not required for treatment.
